For the colorful.
Color is more than just a hue. It expresses a feeling. Makes a statement. Declares an allegiance. Color reveals your personality. Apple Watch 11C, in five anything-but-shy colors, does just that. It’s not just for lovers of color. It’s for the colorful.

Being Approachable

iPhone 5c.
Released Sept 20, 2013.
Although I never owned one, the iPhone 5c stands out in my mind as one of the more unique models of iPhone. The marketing was fun and for years I saw people walking around with colorful phone.
iPhone 5c was the first "affordable" iPhone. An Apple phone finally felt accessible. Apple lowered the cost by using a hard-coated polycarbonate shell, verses the aluminum body of the flagship iPhone. It was many peoples' first foray into owning an iPhone.
The iPhone 5c was fun and appealing to the masses.
Apple Watch
The Apple Watch has been successful, but it hasn't yet reached the masses. When first released in 2015, Apple Watch was first showcased as a luxury item.
The Apple Watch Edition was one of the 1st gen options that included an 18-karat gold coated housing, which cost $10,000. Even at the time I thought this was laughable: knowing tech, I knew the 1st gen of any product would be the quickest to become obsolete.
I wonder where those Apple Watch Editions are today...

Mass Appeal

Apple Watch has been out for a decade. Now would be the perfect time to branch out and capture the segment of the market that hasn't yet dipped their toe in the wearables market. A lower-end, more affordable watch with several colorful options would be just the thing these people are waiting for. They can "join the club", stand out, and have a brand new watch.
The Design
This is a concept I started modeling out back in 2021. The idea to take the iPhone 5c and make a version of the Apple Watch was a fun side project. My first-born son was also born in 2021, so the project was on the back-burner for a while... We recently moved our family across the country for my wife to earn a PhD, giving me the time at home to work on other projects. It's been fun to pull this out and finally finish it!
Now, imagine if Apple did a reprise of the iPhone 5C: the iPhone 17C, alongside the Apple Watch 11C. People would have a matching phone and watch. Would be fun.
